Say Uncle Raises $13,900 for the Los Angeles LGBT Center

LOS ANGELES — The Say Uncle Network has announced they raised $13,900 during Pride Month for the Los Angeles LGBT Center Care Fund.

Proceeds came from major portions of new sign-ups for the membership site, and were matched by the all-male company.

The donations from the SayUncle.com membership drive — $5 for every monthly subscription and $25 for every annual subscription purchased during the month of June, which SayUncle matched — will go towards the LA LGBT Center’s CARE (Community Action Response Effort) Fund.

The LA LGBT Center, said a rep, is known for “queer humanitarian services that have an international reach" and their CARE program ""aims to serve as a rapid response for those in need and the most vulnerable in the LGBTQ community during the COVID-19 crisis."

“Every dollar raised for the CARE Fund goes immediately to guaranteeing healthcare access to someone who would otherwise be turned away, food for those in financial desperation, expanding tele-health and remote programs, and shelter for those with nowhere else to go,” the rep added. “CARE is a beacon of hope in times of desperation, and during the worldwide pandemic, it is an essential tool to benefit people who need it the most.”

SayUncle’s CEO Mars explained that “the pursuit for equal opportunities in the queer community is always ongoing, and this pandemic has taken an enormous toll.”

“We want to lead by example by giving back to our community, and we’re thrilled that the money we’ve raised will help so many people for such a vital cause,” Mars added. “Celebrating Pride is much more than acknowledgement, we want to raise each other up and fight for a more equal world.”
