Next Door Studios Shuts Down NextDoorEbony, Declares Support for #BLM

LOS ANGELES — Next Door Studios has shuttered eight-year-old all-male imprint NextDoorEbony.com and will fold the existing content into its flagship brand. In addition, the company has made donations to several charities and nonprofit orgs and other groups, including the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement.

NextDoorEbony launched in 2012 with a focus on Black male performers; it ceased active production in 2016. The company felt the imprint "marginalized men of color," explained a representative.

"In the wake of BLM, we made the decision to shut down the site and donate revenues to various charities including BLM, the Adult Performers Advocacy Committee (APAC), the Third Wave Fund and the Brave Space Alliance," the rep continued. "These organizations are working to fight racism, provide representation and empower those who have been marginalized by their race or sexual orientation and we support their efforts."

"Looking to the future, Next Door has recognized the need for better inclusion in our casting process, and steps have been taken to assure that our content and our talent will better reflect the world we live in," concluded the rep.

Earlier this month, Stephan Sirard, the founder of Next Door Studios, announced his retirement after two decades in adult.
