'Cam Girlfriend' Nabs Noms at Rio, NYC Webfests

TORONTO — Camming Life's comedy web series “Cam_Girlfriend” has been nominated for Best Comedy and Dynamic Duo (Lily LaBeau & Dave Keystone) by the NYC Web Fest and Best Writing (Comedy) and Best Ensemble (Comedy) by the Rio Webfest.

“Cam_Girlfriend” is a 10-episode comedy series that follows the life of a Chaturbate broadcaster who juggles her relationship with her boyfriend and her dedicated fans.

The series was made possible by Canada's Independent Production Fund. It was created by Ethan Cole, written by Cole and Michael Goldlist and directed by Daniel AM Rosenberg. The producers are Goldlist, Rosenberg and Jason Kennedy.

International Recognition

Rio Webfest is an international festival that recognizes the best online content from web series, vlogs, web pilots and more. With over 60 categories, Rio Webfest winners are awarded with personalized trophies called ZÉ, billed as "the Brazilian version of the Oscars."

The winners will be announced on November 11-14 at the live festival in Rio. To vote for “Cam_Girlfriend” in the Popular Vote category, click here.

NYC Web Fest brings together a diverse group of people from around the world to showcase “the best of the web.” The winners will be announced on November 13-15 during their virtual festival.

Chaturbate CEO Shirley Lara said the company is “thrilled that ‘Cam_Girlfriend' is [being] recognized on such a global stage. It’s great to see a web series about the adult industry nominated along with so many other entertaining shows.”

CAMGF1 Productions is the company behind "Cam_Girlfriend."

"It sounds like a cliché, but it’s really an honor to be nominated, especially among so many of our peers," said the producers in a group statement. "We are so proud of the series and everyone’s amazing work, both in front and behind the camera.”
