AEBN Releases Gender, Age Analysis of Porn-Buying Trends

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — AEBN has published an analysis of porn viewer demographics with special emphasis on age and gender.

Taking a closer look at viewers in what the company defines as the “straight” and “gay” sides of the adult VOD market, the analysis attempts to answer questions related to gender, particularly the porn consumption habits of cis women.

“Do women watch porn?” asked a rep. “Are women consuming more porn than they have in previous years? Do they watch the same content as men? Are they looking for plot-driven features or do they go straight to the action? Do younger people watch more porn than their elders?”

The rep stated that while reliable demographic info "has always been a topic of informed speculation around many adult industry water coolers, it’s only recently that the tools for accurately reporting gender and age of online users have become widely available.”

Using these tools, AEBN examined growth trends, favored categories and the age during which men and women are more likely to pay for their adult content.
