NEW YORK — The 17th annual edition of CineKink has pivoted to a virtual presentation and will broadcast from December 2-6 on PinkLabel.tv.
Originally scheduled for last spring, the event will feature "a specially-curated program of films and videos that celebrate and explore a wide diversity of sexuality, with offerings ranging from documentary to drama, comedy to experimental, mildly spicy to quite explicit — and everything in between," noted a rep.
CineKink co-founder and director Lisa Vandever praised PinkLabel.tv for riding to the rescue.
"Forced to scrap our annual festivities in March, we’ve finally found a way to bring this fantastic lineup to our audience," she said. "Thanks to our streaming partner, PinkLabel.TV, we’re now able to circumvent some of the restrictive policies that make many of the works we present a bit too spicy for many of the mainstream platforms and online services."
The virtual festivities kick off Wednesday, December 2 with a showcase of short films titled "Taste of CineKink," followed by the fundraiser "Kinky Kick-Off Bingo" at 5 p.m. (PST) that will offer up "hijinks, sexy prizes and the chance for festivalgoers to revel in a sense of community after months of separation," the rep said.
Screenings from Thursday, December 3 to Saturday, December 5 will include "a community chat function" and filmmaker Q&A sessions.
On-demand encores, an awards progrm and a "DIY AfterGlow" party will complete CineKink's run on Sunday, December 6.
