Amberly Rothfield Talks Pornhub Changes, 'Marginalized Models' With Mel Magazine

LOS ANGELES — Industry marketing expert and business mentor Amberly Rothfield is among the industry notables interviewed by Mel Magazine about the ramifications of major credit card companies cutting ties with Pornhub.

"Are Pornhub’s changes a victory for sex workers — or a distressing sign of future crackdowns and consequences?" asked writer Jake Hall.

The article "points to a glaring disparity between the adult industry and the mainstream. The payment networks have turned away from Pornhub but not Facebook, which has significantly more illegal material, and many see this as an excuse to attack the industry," noted a rep for Rothfield.

Attacks on the porn and sex work industry more generally are nothing new, said Hall, but "the true intentions behind anti-porn campaigns are usually hidden behind a veil of moral panic. When it comes to conversations about change in the industry, it’s vital that they’re led and shaped by the sex workers who will ultimately feel the most severe extent of their impact."

In related news, Rothfield is among those featured in a new article for Rolling Stone on similar topics. She recently released a new guide, titled "Marketing for Marginalized Models," for free on her official website.
