LOS ANGELES — April Flores is reflecting on her experience as the virtual red carpet host for the 2020 AltPorn Awards.
Winners were announced December 30 during a virtual ceremony hosted by Jeffrey Damnit. Malice McMunn served as trophy girl. The awards, along with AltStar Magazine, are produced by AltPorn.net and highlight alt.porn, counterculture, subculture, punk, goth, emo, tattooed and "creatively offbeat smut" as well as "diverse individuality, punk rock DIY attitudes, ethical creative processes, counterculture influences and a tribal sense of connected supportive community," noted a rep.
Flores described the hosting job as "a huge honor."
"It is so cool to see alt.porn evolve from a subgenre to a thriving and supportive community of humans who express themselves creatively and sexually," she said. "It was a real pleasure to interview Amelia G and her partner Forrest Black because I have known them for more than 10 years. This duo was clearly ahead of their time and deserving of their win [for Best Gothic Shoot]."
