FSC to Host Tax Panel for Adult Workers, Content Creators

FSC to Host Tax Panel for Adult Workers, Content Creators

LOS ANGELES — The Free Speech Coalition (FSC) Inspire program will host a new webinar on tax preparation for adult industry workers and content creators on Thursday, March 25 at 11 a.m. (PDT) led by FSC Industry Relations Advocate Lotus Lain with bookkeeper Jessie Hornby, tax preparer Eric Polacek and Adult Industry Laborers & Artists Association (AILAA) founder Mary Moody.

Next week's event follows a similar FSC Inspire panel in January with tax attorney Beth McKenna and "tax Domme" Lori St. Kitts. Although the 2021 tax filing deadline was recently extended from April 15 to May 17, Lain felt a second panel was warranted.

“With 2020 taxes coming due, and so many new people in our industry, we wanted to bring together tax professionals with industry professionals to help get everyone over the finish line,” said Lain. “We’ll cover last-minute tax issues, including deductions, extensions, PPP loans and strategies for reducing your tax burden in 2021."

"This is a specialized industry with specialized needs," Lain continued. "There are too few resources available to us, and many mainstream accountants aren’t familiar with the industry. No matter whether you use a big firm, or file taxes yourself, this panel will provide the tips and strategies that understand sex work is real work."
