DALLAS — Dallas sexologist, educator and anti-racism and body positivity advocate Goody Howard (MSW, MPH) has been chosen as winner of sexual wellness brand and retailer Lovers' inaugural Lovers List: The Ultimate Sex Educator Awards.
The awards shine a spotlight on the most vibrant, promising and respected sex educators in the industry due to their important work and advocacy.
Howard, who won by popular vote after being selected as one of the 10 finalists, said, “I’ve been doing this work for almost 15 years and this is my first award ever. I don't do it for the recognition, but I have so much joy in my heart knowing that my work and effort are appreciated. I'm feeling so grateful and affirmed.”
Howard won a grand prize of $7,500 with a matched donation ($7,500) to the Woodhull Freedom Foundation, the national organization focusing on affirming sexual freedom and ending sexual violence. She also received a $2,500 retail value gift basket of products from Lovers.
“The prize money,” Howard added, “is going to help me make so much more content and Woodhull was the first sexuality conference that I ever attended, so the donation to them feels like a full-circle moment. Thank you, Lovers!"
