NAPA, Calif. — Magic Wand is celebrating National Haiku Poetry Day this month by inviting fans to submit an inspirational haiku for a chance to win a free Magic Wand Original.
"Haiku is a type of short-form poetry originally from Japan. Haiku often consist of non-rhyming phrases rendered in a 5-7-5 syllable pattern over three lines," a rep explained. "Haiku poems can be inspired by an element of nature, a season, a moment of beauty or an individual experience or event. National Haiku Poetry Day encourages everyone to try this creative form of expression."
Participants must be over the age of 18 and a resident of the United States or Canada. To enter the contest, follow Magic Wand on Instagram and leave an original haiku in the comments section of their post about haiku. The winning poem will be announced via Instagram on April 17, which is National Haiku Poetry Day.
“Haikus are a great embodiment of Magic Wand — accessible and diverse, with a rich history. We are excited to see how creative people can get,” Vibratex Owner and VP Shay Martin said.
“A haiku does not have to be about Magic Wand per se, though we can’t think of a better inspirational ‘moment of beauty’ than those brought about by a true Magic Wand," added Martin.
