NEW YORK — Six-time XBIZ award-winning performer Maitland Ward has announced her memoir, titled "My Escape From Hollywood: Why I Left to Become a Porn Star," has been acquired by Simon & Schuster for publication in 2022 by Atria Books.
An Atria rep described the book as "a steamy, no-holds-barred memoir chronicling everything from her days on the classic soap 'The Bold and The Beautiful,' to her stint on popular ABC/Disney sitcom 'Boy Meets World,' to her meteoric rise to porn stardom, and why she decided to kiss mainstream Hollywood goodbye."
Atria Senior Editor Michelle Herrera Mulligan praised Ward's "witty, incisive voice" and a story that "drew all of us in from the first page."
"Her rare perspective on the sexism she experienced first-hand in Hollywood, and the liberation she’s found in women-produced adult entertainment, will inspire, shock and inform a generation eager to learn her story," added Herrera Mulligan.
Worldwide English rights were acquired by Herrera Mulligan from Stephanie Kim at New Leaf Literary & Media.
Ward entered adult in 2019 and went on to earn six XBIZ Awards, including back-to-back lead acting wins for the Deeper.com erotic dramas "Drive" and "Muse," as well as "Crossover Star of the Year" and an XBIZ Cam Awards win for "Best Premium Social Media Star" in 2020.
She counts over two million social media followers and has earned more than 700,000 OnlyFans "likes."
“This is one of the proudest moments of my career,” said Ward. “I’m so thrilled that I get to share my life and story in such a unique and impactful way. I am beyond grateful to Simon & Schuster and Atria Books for having belief in my writing and my voice."
