LOS ANGELES — Fetish Mafia, described as a "consumer-friendly bondage brand," has introduced Body Bags condoms.
The nascent brand was recently launched by leather designer Justin Sayne; the condoms are part its rollout of "essential, kinky playthings and accessories," noted a rep.
The "Body Bags" name is "intended not only to put a smirk on customers’ faces, but also to facilitate conversations about safe sex," Sayne explained.
“Condoms are often viewed as a nuisance; and even saying the word ‘condom’ can be embarrassing for some people,” he continued. “Calling them ‘Body Bags’ makes it less taboo and you can’t help but get a grin on your face."
The prophylactics are contained in a pocket-sized resealable pack with six condoms and a sample packet of lubricant. The "eye-catching comic book-style art features a character decked out with a gas mask, tommy gun and other implements of war — paired with a sophisticated tuxedo," said the rep. "The battle-ready character represents the protection that a trusty Body Bag condom can provide."
Artist Jake Hopkins created the design to match "the aesthetic of the Fetish Mafia brand," the rep continued. "Featured on T-shirts, stickers and on a line of affordable, quality bondage gear, the Fetish Mafia brand aims to promote the mainstreaming of BDSM with highly visible marketing and accessible products that invites everyone to become a part of the lifestyle."
Reloadable Fetish Mafia gift cards are also available to "introduce a friend or sex partner to bondage products with a contribution to their first purchase," added the rep.
