LOS ANGELES — Bella Bathory will be among the featured performers Friday at a private location for "Speakeasy: A Sunset Soiree, and Sesh," described as "a night of carefully curated cannabis creativity to transport you into the next incarnation of the 'Roaring Twenties.'"
The "Speakeasy" is intended as an "immersive experience... and will be captured on film by the one-and-only Rae Threat."
Bathory is part of the team from Severe Sex Films that won back-to-back XBIZ Awards in 2018-19 for "Fetish Release of the Year."
"After every severe pandemic in history, humanity has always recovered by celebrating and living life to the fullest for the many who are no longer able to join the festivities on this plane of existence," noted a rep. "Performers have missed live audiences as much as the world has missed watching them. With vaccinations readily available in L.A. County, watching the world open prematurely, and the perfect blend of performers, locations and 'weed-spiration,' we bring you the soft reopening of our worlds."
"This event is focused on bringing together the creators you love, curated cannabis vendors, libations and infused cuisine for live shows that are COVID-compliant," the rep added.
Performers Lady Nichole, Vita Devoid and Ignis Trix are set to join Bathory; the night will be hosted by Bob the Ringmaster.
"We don't have prohibition of liquor this century, post-pandemic panic, but we are facing the same effects of censorship, criminalization and incarceration on a national level," the rep continued. "Where there is any kind of perceived social deviance that is affected by authoritarian power, there will be long-lasting repercussions for the most marginalized in that group."
As such, the night's events will also serve as a fundraiser for Her Highness NYC and the Last Prisoner Project, noted the rep, whose specific focus remains on getting BIPOC female-identified people out of prison for "antiquated cannabis charges."
"Upon entry, you will need to show proof of ticket purchase, valid ID and the password to enter the speakeasy," the rep explained. "After getting into the hottest, highest and hippest event of the spring, you will be given your table number, seating layout chart, code of conduct for the evening and the list of vendors with showtimes for the stage performances — and that sweet feeling of COVID-compliant safety while beginning the next chapter of this strange new normal."
"You'll walk into an outdoor open-air paradise and along the way to the seating area in front of the main stage, you'll have an opportunity to see our vendors and sponsors at their booths, relax by one of the fire pits to socialize — or spark up," added the rep. "The evening begins with time to browse the vendors and have a glass or two of bubbly [and includes] two acts of the best performers in Los Angeles, an intermission and an option to mingle with the performers in a private VIP area with a ticket add-on."
Vendors are currently set to include Dr. Mystery Baking Co., Hazel Delivery Services, Lady Nichole Creations, Edibles List Magazine, Mirage Chocolates, Threatsicles and The Grand Lab NorCal.
Event sponsors include King Arthur Liquor, The Stockroom and Her Highness NYC.
