Velvet Thruster Announces Ongoing Support for Suicide Prevention Nonprofit

LOS ANGELES — Velvet Thruster has announced an ongoing campaign to support Suicide Prevention Services of America (SPS) with quarterly financial donations.

"It's a subject I personally have a hard time talking opening about, perhaps because I have asked myself before if I am valuable enough to be here despite having a great family and fun sex toy business," said Velvet Thruster's Alex Fima. "I know am not alone; life can be stressful and overwhelming to any of us. And lately, it's hard not to notice the increased tension amongst our population here in the U.S."

The company has created an opt-in campaign through which Velvet Thruster will make a $1 donation with each email address collected; each entrant will also qualify for a quarterly giveaway that includes the Velvet Thruster Prime and other products.

“Physical, sexual and emotional wellness are part of the mission of peace and happiness that Velvet hopes to manifest so this decade ends better than it started,” Co-Founder and CEO Danyell Fima said.

Stephanie Weber has been the executive director of SPS for 23 years.

“SPS happy to partner with Velvet Thruster," she said. "What the general population needs to know is that suicide doesn’t spare any demographic. The desperation and pain and loss of hope is the root cause of suicide," she said. "Awareness comes through education."

"We are one of 183 centers that are a part of the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-TALK," Weber added.

Velvet Marketing Director Kassidy Fima said the company is dedicated to supporting the expansion of mental health education and wellness using "profits from our sex toy business since it's our path to [helping] our community."
