Irish Government Conduit for Porn Downloads

IRELAND – Government officials have seen the amount of porn downloads skyrocket in government offices in Northern Ireland, a recent study says.

A report released by the House of Commons states that porn downloads on the job have doubled over the past year.

Civil employees who are accessing "inappropriate or offensive material" have more than doubled from 219 cases to 430 cases, the report states. Playing computer games has also swelled in popularity among employees during work hours.

The reports states that an overall review of computer abuse totaled 454 in 2001, 332 in 2002, and 866 last year, with only 33 cases in 2000.

"It makes you wonder how any work gets done," said one of the organizers of the study.
