NEW JERSEY — Brianna McKnight has been rehired by adult retailer Fantasy Gifts NJ as its social media coordinator and party consultant.
According to the company, McKnight was originally hired in 2017 as a retail sales clerk and left to pursue a career in social work; however, she stayed involved with Fantasy Gifts by reviewing sex toys for their official blog.
"Her first blog was penned in May 2018 and since then she has written numerous blogs detailing her triumphs, and some failures, with our many products," a rep said. "Her honest and funny writing has earned her many fans. She now returns with a passion for educating and informing customers and staff about the various ways our products can enhance their lives."
The company says her position now includes developing original content and suggesting creative ways to attract more customers and promote Fantasy Gifts NJ through web-based and in-person outreach events.
"As a party consultant, Bri will be managing events in our newly created party rooms," a rep said. "Our party rooms allow our customers to have a home party experience without all the hassle of hosting at your house."
McKnight holds a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from Drexel University in Philadelphia. She previously worked as a social worker teaching parents and adults how to recognize signs of child abuse and how to prevent such abuses from occurring. She has also mentored at-risk youths who are aging out of the foster care system.
She is continuing to pursue a master's degree in Human Sexuality from Widener University.
"We recognize that this industry is ever-changing and in order to stay relevant, it is necessary to engage our customers where they live, which is on social media,” said Dee Bertino, owner of Fantasy Gifts. "Bri’s enthusiasm and passion for our industry, as well as her creative ideas and spirit, make her a perfect fit for this job."
McKnight noted that Fantasy Gifts has "felt like a place that is a home away from home for years."
"Even when I stopped working shifts, I still made a point to stay involved with training and writing blogs," she said. "My personal mission statement is to promote sexual health and wellness, with pleasure being at the core. Sex is so many things; it brings life into the world, it can start, strengthen and even end relationships. It is a part of religion and spirituality, it is great for your mental and physical health, and it is truly just empowering to be in control of your sexual citizenship. Fantasy Gifts is a place where I can be my truest self, a company that holds the same values as I do, and a chosen family than can and does support me in all of my ventures in life. And that makes all the difference."
