NEW YORK — The New York Post has picked up a story of discrimination from content creator Romi Chase.
Chase explained that her rent in Miami was hiked from $2,300 to $4,800 per month after her landlord learned that she was an OnlyFans performer.
"My landlord shamed my sexy job, then more than doubled my rent," she said.
Chase went into further detail for the Post article.
"I was a model tenant; I never missed a payment, even during the pandemic when my career actually thrived,” she said. “I was quiet and low-key, nothing illegal or suspicious ever went on, and I never had an issue with any of my neighbors.”
“It was a 120 percent increase during a time when people were just barely surviving,” Chase added.
A rep noted Chase’s story has struck a chord with those who are struggling financially, particularly during the pandemic. Zumper.com, a housing website for renters, has declared Miami is "the U.S. city with the fastest rising rent prices."
