LOS ANGELES — Cherie DeVille has penned a new article for The Daily Beast that examines how male industry figures have reacted to the Supreme Court's recent reversal of Roe v. Wade.
"Cherie interviewed two male industry members, performer Xander Corvus and podcaster Matt Slayer, about their choice to get vasectomies now that more and more states are restricting access to abortions," a rep said. "Cherie lays out the scenario that with intercourse, accidents can happen, even with birth control. While access to safe abortions is legal in California, Cherie points out that staunch pro-life activist Marjorie Dannenfelser, President of Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America, has vowed to get safe abortions banned in California. With this news, Cherie points out that more and more male performers are opting to get the snip."
And while the reversal of Roe v. Wade may seem to be only about abortion, DeVille "makes it clear that the industry sees this as suppression of sexual freedom, which will affect those out of the industry as well," the rep added.
"Once again, I am so grateful to The Daily Beast for allowing me a platform to discuss how decisions like Roe v. Wade affect sex workers," DeVille commented. "This topic affects everyone, but we seldom hear the voices of sex workers and I'm happy to help those outside of the industry see our side."
