Pineapple Support Releases 'End of Year Review' for 2021

LOS ANGELES — Pineapple Support has released its "End of Year Review" for 2021, detailing the organization's achievements and new initiatives last year, as well as challenges faced.

“2021 was a crucial year for Pineapple Support, as the adult industry continued to grapple with the pandemic, as well as the financial strains that it caused,” said founder and CEO Leya Tanit. “Demand for support continued to soar throughout the year, with record numbers of performers seeking help. Pineapple therapists, partners, supporters, sponsors and staff really pulled through, helping us to surpass our predictions and reach a significant — though sobering — milestone of having connected over 5,000 performers with mental health services.”

The continued effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, a rep noted, “saw persistent emotional, social, health and financial challenges for the adult industry in 2021. Despite this, Pineapple Support, backed by its sponsors, saw continued growth and increased reach.”

According to the report, over the course of 2021, Pineapple Support connected nearly 3,000 performers, producers and other members of the adult community with emotional support and therapy, provided over 16,000 one-on-one therapy sessions to adult performers and producers, recruited more than 90 new therapists worldwide, added 16 new sponsors, hosted over 30 webinars and 100 support group meetings, had staff speak at or attend 12 major industry events, and provided active listening to 860 individuals in need of emotional support.

The review also covers how the organization responded to ongoing COVID-19 restrictions and effects, its continued programs and new initiatives and its growing membership.
