PARIS — Dorcel has released director Franck Vicomte's "A Lovely Au Pair," starring Lana Roy.
As the scenario unfolds, Roy is introduced as a free-spirited university student from Eastern Europe seeking work to finance her tuition.
"While she balks at most of the jobs she finds in the service industry, she feels attracted to the life of an au pair," a rep said. "She's charmed that the title comes from the French term 'au pair,' meaning 'at par' or 'equal to,' indicating that the working relationship is intended to be one of equals: an au pair is intended to become a member of the family, albeit a temporary one rather than a traditional domestic worker.
"With her impeccable references and beguiling personality, Lana is quickly hired by a wealthy couple (Shalina Devine, Kristof Cale) with a reputation for taking good care of their employees," continued the rep. "But despite having a seemingly perfect marriage, Shalina and Kristof each have their own secrets. And each knows that the other likes to have a good time with other partners. In an attempt to save their relationship, they allow themselves a fling every now and then — a lifestyle choice Lana is only too happy to facilitate."
Josh Jo, Linda Leclair, David Perry and Totti round out the cast in "110 minutes of expertly shot, paced and edited commercial scenes," the rep said.
Daniel Metcalf, U.S.-based publicist for the studio, noted the "Au Pair" series is "one of the most storied in the Dorcel canon."
"Early editions were helmed by such talented filmmakers as Fabien Lafait and Philippe Soine, and, more recently, Alis Locanta. Franck Vicomte has given us the newest installment, and he's found the perfect au pair in Lana Roy," Metcalf said.
