NEW YORK — Segpay’s Cathy Beardsley has been named one of Forbes “50 Over 50” outstanding business leaders, in the “Money” category.
Forbes termed the 57-year-old CEO, “one of the most powerful women in the payments industry.”
The business news publication explained that “as head of Segpay, an online payment platform with over 600 global merchants,” Beardsley “carved out a niche in the industry when she launched the company in 2005 as a secure payment-processing option for high-risk payment merchants with no direct relationships with banks or credit card companies.”
Forbes noted that before founding Segpay, Beardsley, a Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and University of Santa Clara alumna, led iBill, which sold to Intercept in 2002 for $112 Million.
