LOS ANGELES — Vice TV will premiere eight-episode docuseries “Sex Before the Internet,” produced in partnership with former ABC News president James Goldston’s Aquitania Films, on Jan 10, 2023.
“Sex Before the Internet,” a rep explained, “takes viewers back to the time before your dial-up helped you get off. Before Pornhub and XTube, camming and OnlyFans, there existed an era where porn wasn’t available for free at your fingertips. This was a time when X-rated magazines, VHS tapes and 1-900 numbers allowed people to get in touch with what touched them.”
Producer Goldston told entertainment news source Deadline that the series “raises many important and consequential issues about a unique time in American life and culture. We’re excited to bring this documentary series to Vice TV, which has a well-earned reputation for pushing the envelope and diving deep into the subject matters others may have shied away from.”
Ginger Lynn, Christy Canyon, Herschel Savage, Buck Angel and Sean Michaels are among the performers who will appear in the series to offer their perspective on the pre-internet era of the adult industry.
