NEW YORK — The CineKink film festival has opened its submission period, seeking works that celebrate and explore a wide diversity of sexuality.
Celebrating its 20th anniversary, the event described by organizers as “the kinky film festival” was founded in 2003, with the intent of recognizing and encouraging sex-positive and kink-friendly depictions.
"CineKink will consider offerings from both the independent film world and the adult, with selections ranging from documentary to drama, camp comedy to artsy experimental, mildly spicy to quite explicit — and everything in between," said a rep.
CineKink co-founder and director Lisa Vandever explained, "Basically, as long as it involves consenting adults, just about anything celebrating sex as a right of self expression is fair game. Far be it from us to define 'kink.' If you think your work might make sense in this context, please send it along.”
Scheduled for May/June 2023, CineKink NYC will include a short film competition, audience choice awards and an adult entertainment showcase/contest, with a national screening tour to follow.
Discounted, "early-bird" entries are due Dec. 9, while the "regular" deadline is Jan. 10 and the "late" deadline is Feb. 3, with submission fees increasing at each tier. An "extended deadline" runs until Feb. 23 for works submitted online only.
Entry fees are waived for CineKink-alumni filmmakers, provided they are submitted by the “regular” deadline of Jan. 6, with a limit of three entries each. Waiver information has been emailed to all alumni.
