LOS ANGELES — Sexpert Dr. Susan Block returned to the “Active Radio” show on WCAP-AM 980 on Feb. 25, to share her annual “State of the Sexual Union” address.
Host Hartley Pleshaw introduced Block, aka “Dr. Suzy,” by noting, “We had Joe Biden’s State of the Union last week. We had Vladimir Putin’s address. Well, those were just amateurs. Today you’re going to get what we consider to be the most important state of the union — State of the Sexual Union, I should say — address of 2023: the one and only Dr. Susan Block, sexologist supreme.”
Block also delivered her “I Have a Fantasy” speech, inspired by Dr. Martin Luther King, and shared her vision to “replace the Capitalocene, which values war for profit, with the Bonobocene, valuing female empowerment, male well-being, sharing resources, good sex and peace through pleasure.”
Other subjects Block touched upon included how free speech in the form of noncorporate sex education and political expression is still being unfairly censored on social media, which she described as “more and more corporate, and less and less human”; her recent appearance on Vice TV’s “Sex Before the Internet”; Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ “Don’t Say Gay” law; drag bans and more.
