LJUBLJANA, Slovenia — GoAskAlex's featurette "The Confession" will be screened for competition at the Red Dawns International Feminist and Queer Festival in Ljubljana.
The festival kicks off March 8 to coincide with Internation Women's Day. This is the first festival submission for Alex, who wrote and directed the featurette. "The Confession" is notable for being created, cast, and crewed entirely by sex workers in Alex's native British Columbia. It stars Alex along with ElizabxthFields, Ondreeah, Fennel, PrinceMargo, NatieDel and FionaMae.
"The Confession" centers on a woman "who has strayed from her righteous path and asks forgiveness from the inside of a dimly lit confessional booth," said a rep. "As she describes her sins, the viewer is transported into her Sapphic fantasies before climaxing in a surprise twist ending."
Alex enthused about the selection.
"It is a great honour to partake in my first film festival," she said, adding jokingly, "My only regret is not being able to make the journey for the opening show — a great reminder to renew my passport."
"Creating artistic video content has been a passion of mine for many years. My writing and editing skills have reached a point where I am ready to take my work to the next level," she continued.
