MONTREAL — Zariah Aura makes her Transfixed debut alongside Jane Wilde and Aften Opal in "Human Interest."
Directed by Siouxsie Q, the scene opens with lifestyle columnist Wilde "interviewing a cis woman (Opal) and her partner, a trans woman (Aura), and is excited to give her readers a fresh perspective on a relationship they may be unfamiliar with," the synopsis reveals. "During the interview, Wilde finds herself drawn to the couple — 'Usually as a journalist I am supposed to refrain from crossing into that territory, but I really feel like there’s a connection with all of us here. I don’t know if I’m making that up, or? I’m definitely interested.'"
Aura enthused about the scene.
"I am over the moon with the grouping for my Transfixed debut," she said. "This will be a first for my fans so I was nervous but I had so much fun. I love girls."
Siouxsie Q noted that she drew inspiration from her time as a freelance writer.
"This project was another fun opportunity to weave some of my own experiences and history into the storytelling we do for Transfixed. Collaborating with the ever-talented Jane Wilde to create an authentic character that drew, in part, from my years as a freelance culture journalist and sex columnist for Rolling Stone and The San Francisco Weekly, respectively, was fulfilling in the most unexpected and delightful of ways."
"Human Interest" is streaming on Transfixed.
