DELHI, India — IMbesharam.com feted India’s LGBTQ+ community with its three-day Desi Pride Weekender event held June 16-18 and hosted in collaboration with Gay Gaze Bombay.
The event, which took place in Bandra, Mumbai, showcased queer identities and experiences, and featured performances, games and giveaways.
A rep described Besharam and Gay Gaze’s Desi Pride Weekender as “a colorful celebration of love, diversity, expression and inclusion amidst a backdrop of playfulness and pleasure.”
“Bringing forth the best of queer art, music and drag performances, the Weekender not only emerged as a testament to the resilience of the queer community but also created a platform for queer-owned small businesses to foster community support and appreciation,” the rep added.
IMbesharam CEO Raj Armani said that his company was “thrilled” to partner with Gay Gaze Bombay for the event.
“While Pride is not a one-time occurrence at Besharam, safe spaces such as this event are important to express and explore your sexuality while providing voice and a platform for the vibrant Desi queer community to shine,” Armani noted. “We have been proud supporters of the community for a decade now, and continue to work, collaborate and do business with diligent professionals and artists representing the community.”
