MIAMI — Talent Testing Service (TTS) is now providing free Mycoplasma genitalium (Mgen) testing to those who request it as part of their routine test panel.
The measure, a rep noted, is in response to an “upward trend” among the total population testing at its labs, which — according to TTS’ monthly STI statistics report comparing the last four months, released Thursday — reached a positivity rate of 23.4% in July.
TTS began offering Mgen as a standalone test in April.
“Given the limited sample size for the Mgen analysis, TTS will continue to monitor closely the positivity rates within the talent community,” the rep explained. “TTS has also taken the initiative to engage with various industry stakeholders, sharing the comprehensive Mgen testing analysis.”
