POMPANO BEACH, Fla. — M.D. Science Lab and Swiss Navy are spotlighting August as National Anal Health and Awareness Month by urging retailers to focus on spreading education about the topic.
The month-long event, a rep said, “can act as a reminder to keep anal health and safety practices in the forefront of people’s minds.”
M.D. Science Lab VP of Sales and Marketing Briana Watkins said, “Our team as a whole is always looking to increase awareness of overall health and safety, but during August, we all tend to focus on anal play and how we can help our retail partners to be prepared for consumers wanting to celebrate and participate in honoring Anal August in all its forms.”
Watkins cited research showing that in 2022, approximately 40% of U.S. adults reported having tried anal sex.
“The popularity of anal play continues to grow,” she noted. “That’s why we offer different types of anal lubricants and make sure that we’re aware of anal safety practices.”
According to Watkins, the company is encouraging retail staff to keep in mind this month that encouraging consumers to practice safe anal play can help them to engage in more pleasurable anal sex.
“And we also want them to know that Swiss Navy is always here to help,” she added.
