Marica Hase, Chris Cock Featured in Netflix's 'Risque Business: Taiwan'

LOS ANGELES — Marica Hase and Chris Cock are featured in Netflix's “Risque Business: Taiwan,” which premieres Tuesday.

Produced by Netflix Korea, “Risque Business: Taiwan” is the follow-up season to the streamer’s “Risque Business: Japan.” It features the show hosts following and interviewing Hase and Cock during their appearance in April at the Taiwan Adult Expo.

The first season of the show, Hase shared, has been popular both in her home country of Japan and in the U.S., where she resides. It also featured some of her colleagues from Japan.

“A lot of my non-industry friends here have also watched the show, so it was already familiar to me when the producers reached out,” she noted.

Hase said that she is “thrilled” that the program showcases the work she and her colleagues do to entertain fans.

“I was so happy to be able to take advantage of my international porn star status and share my global experience working in the industry, to discuss the differences between porn production in Europe, Australia, Japan and the U.S. on the show,” she shared.

Fans, she said, can look forward to a peek at what she is like when she is not on a studio set.

“I also think my industry colleagues will also have fun learning a little about how things are done in other parts of the world,” she added.

“Risque Business: Japan” was hosted by comedian Shin Dong-youp and singer Sung Si-kyung, and presented in a semi-documentary talk show format. The show covered adult videos, AV production, sex toys, host clubs and VR porn.

"We thought about not touching the topic of adult videos, or AV,” co-producer Jung Hyo-min told The Korea Times. “But considering the size of the AV industry in Japan, it didn't feel right to avoid that topic. Making AVs is illegal in Korea but we wanted to see 'how they make them' in the countries where it's legal. It's not about what's right or wrong. But we wanted to make a show that lets us think about where we stand. I've realized how different people's views on sex are. Before the show's release, I thought the response would be divided by gender or generation. But I've learned that it's about how open- or closed-minded you are towards the matter."

Co-producer Kim In-sik said the Taiwan series will provide a more solid understanding of the show's purpose.
