Eco-Friendly Kink Toy Brand Red & Mr. Wolf Launches Kickstarter

SAN FRANCISCO — New eco-friendly kink brand Red & Mr. Wolf has launched a Kickstarter campaign for a new line of plant-leather BDSM toys.

According to the company, the brand is inspired by the Little Red Riding Hood tale, with toys “designed to provide therapeutic benefits,” a rep said.

For those who contribute, the Kickstarter campaign is offering some of its products — a set of poi floggers with detachable handles, as well as collars and leashes. The campaign also offers DIY tiers “to help reduce costs and get people involved in making their own toys,” the rep noted.

“Founded by cognitive neuroscientist Shashkes, also known as Red, and one of their partners, Mr. Wolf, who is a seasoned maker and builder, the brand aims to transform the adult wellness industry by merging sustainability with sexual health,” the rep explained. “Utilizing cutting-edge manufacturing technologies like laser cutters, the brand allows customization of the toys, adhering to sustainability without sacrificing quality.”

Shashkes described their motivation in creating the brand.

“Kink is all about creating consent-based relationships and learning to take care of our deepest and sometimes darkest needs in ways that don’t harm others,” they said. “This has been very healing and therapeutic for me so I want to educate more people about the possibilities and expand that consent and care also towards animals and the environment.”

By reimagining Little Red Riding Hood, the rep concluded, “Red and the Wolf collaborate to protect the natural world and animals, symbolizing the way kink empowers people to create their own stories.”
