BARCELONA, Spain — ERIKALUST's latest release, “If Only I Had a Dick,” directed by Stoya, will debut Friday.
Developed by Stoya and producer Erika Lust, the title co-stars Calita Fire and Catherine Knight, and is an homage to the work of Australian feminist Fiona Giles, author of “Dick for a Day,” a feminist anthology collecting interviews on the subject of how someone would act if they had a penis for 24 hours.
“If you’re a cisgender woman, you’ve probably fooled around with the idea of having a dick for a day — what’s the first thing you’d do?” the synopsis asks. “We’re super thrilled to tell you that the iconic Stoya and ERIKALUST have joined forces to make this fantasy come to life.”
The studio describes “If Only I Had a Dick” as “an erotic meditation on our phallocentric culture — what's the phallus’ role in our society and how would someone who doesn't have it feel and act if they had one?”
Stoya told XBIZ, “It was an absolute honor to be invited to guest direct for ERIKALUST. Erika’s company was absolutely the perfect fit for my homage to feminist academic Fiona Giles, and I couldn’t be happier with the result.”
The two directors met in 2023 during Lust Affairs, an event for media and industry professionals, which culminated in the premiere of the Lust Cinema feature “The Wedding.”
Stoya's Phallocentric Confession
A rep explained, “During her visit, Stoya brought her ‘confession’ to light about her fantasy of having a dick for a day, and it struck both directors that they should collaborate to make it a reality.”
In Stoya’s cinematic interpretation, this fantasy becomes a reality, as Calita Fire wakes up with a penis and spends the day doing everything she has envisioned doing with her new appendage.
“If you follow my work, you’ve probably heard me mention Erika’s films,” Stoya said last year after shooting wrapped. “They have a tenderness, a connection and gentleness that feels like art. I love how she’s realistic about ethics on set.”
The story's main point, she added, is “empathy between people with different genitals and what it’s like to fuck with a penis. Dicks telegraph how you’re feeling, and they mean so much in our world — they are indicators of power.”
Lust described Stoya as “a power force in the industry who has inspired people for many years. Having her on set to direct her very own confession was a delight, and what better way of doing it than with a movie that explores gender roles and, ultimately, dicks.”
