Taylor Summers Murder Probe Looks at Blood Link

CONSHOHOCKEN, Penn. – Authorities on Tuesday told XBiz they are investigating the possibility that the assistant to the photographer charged with murdering Taylor Summers was involved in the stabbing death of the porn star.

The 23-year-old Summers, whose real name is Natel King, was murdered after an apparent bondage photo session in late February. Her body was found in a ravine in Whitemarsh, Penn., last month.

Porn photographer Anthony J. Frederick, 46, was arrested and charged with first- and third-degree murder, abuse of a corpse and other charges. He is being held without bail.

His assistant, Jennifer Mitkus, 29, was charged only with lying to police, but detectives want to match her DNA to the mystery blood at the murder scene.

Mitkus, who is being held by authorities after a bail hearing, was charged only with unsworn falsification to police and obstructing justice.

Police are comparing samples taken from Mitkus with evidence removed from the body of Summers, whose body was found wrapped in a backdrop similar to the type used by photographers.

Detectives, who obtained a search warrant on Monday, also will test samples against items found around Summers’ body, including bondage devices, photography backdrops, and a torn drape containing red paint and dried blood.

The Montgomery County District Attorney’s office disclosed late last month that an autopsy determined Summers had sex close to the time she was stabbed to death.

At several sites, including an apartment where Frederick had held photo shoots, police said they found what they believed were blood and other evidence connected to Summers’ death.
