MONTREAL — Ricky Greenwood's "Simulation," the latest feature from the Pure Taboo sci-fi anthology series "Future Darkly," will premiere this coming Friday.
The title features Gal Ritchie, Dee Williams, Vanessa Sky, Lucky Fate, Tommy Pistol, and Oliver Davis.
"'Simulation' plunges viewers into the dark side of virtual reality and personal obsession when isolated office worker Oliver (Fate), who uses VR to escape his mundane existence, gradually becomes consumed by the fantasy world he creates," said a rep. "Coaxed into exploring VR by his manipulative coworker Tommy (Pistol), Oliver develops an unhealthy fixation on his colleague Gal (Ritchie), which spirals into a chilling descent into blurred realities and devastating consequences."
Greenwood elaborated on the feature's premise.
"This project was an incredible opportunity to blend Pure Taboo’s signature dark storytelling with the speculative themes of 'Future Darkly,'" he said. "With 'Simulation,' we wanted to delve into how technology can amplify our deepest desires and vulnerabilities, and the incredible cast brought that vision to life in a way that’s both fascinating and unsettling. I’m excited for viewers to experience the psychological depth and tension of this film, especially as it challenges us to reflect on the potential costs of living too much in a virtual world."
"Simulation" premieres Nov. 29 on AdultTime and FutureDarkly.
