AMSTERDAM — Satisfyer has teamed up with Dutch authorities to help dismantle a counterfeit network that sold fake products online, including items purporting to be the brand's Pro 2 and Penguin vibrators.
A police raid reportedly uncovered a substantial number of counterfeit products and led to the arrest of a suspect with alleged ties to several criminal enterprises, including an organized crime outfit known as the MocroMafia.
Satisfyer took legal action as part of its global anti-counterfeiting strategy aimed at safeguarding its brand and protecting consumers from safety risks due to unregulated manufacturing standards.
"Satisfyer is relentless in its pursuit of counterfeiters," said Sven Pelka, managing director of Triple A/EIS/Satisfyer. "The integrity of our brand and the safety of our customers are nonnegotiable. We take these matters very seriously and will continue to collaborate with law enforcement globally to ensure our products remain trustworthy and safe."
The sting operation highlighted the role that international cooperation plays in combating counterfeit operations, as Satisfyer supplied Dutch officials with information and resources.
Satisfyer has asked retailers to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to help combat counterfeiting. The company also urges customers to purchase only from authorized retailers.
