HILLSBOROUGH, N.C. — Adam & Eve has released the results of a survey asking respondents if they have ever received a sext.
Among the respondents, 73% of males and 54% of females polled said they had received a nude photo or video via text or email, while only 22% of males and 41% of females said they had never been sexted. Just over 5% of the respondents refused to answer.
“Sexting can be a fun, exciting way to flirt or stay connected in a romantic relationship,” said Adam & Eve’s resident sexologist, Dr. Jenni Skyler. “While couples should discuss their comfort levels and expectations with sexting, unsolicited nudes or videos sent without your consent are never acceptable. I encourage participants to avoid showing their faces or including identifying characteristics such as scars, tattoos, jewelry, or their location.”
The web-based survey, conducted by an independent third-party survey company of over 1,000 American adults age 18 and up, was sponsored by Adam & Eve to study sexual preferences and practices.
