Porn Actor 'Miss Arroyo' Fails HIV Test

SHERMAN OAKS, Calif. – XBiz has learned that a porn star who goes by the name "Miss Arroyo" has tested positive for the virus that causes AIDS.

Her manager, Dick Nasty of Nasty Modeling, confirmed Wednesday the actress received news that she is HIV-positive.

“She’s taking it very well; she’s sitting in front of me with a Bible in her hand,” Nasty told XBiz.

Miss Arroyo is the fifth porn actor to be diagnosed with HIV in the last month. She has been apparently linked to the first round of actors who either worked with infected actors Darren James, Laura Roxx and Jessica Dee and the men and women they had sex with.

Miss Arroyo, originally of San Francisco, apparently contracted the virus March 30 in a scene with James.

Transgender actor Jennifer tested positive Tuesday for HIV. Jennifer’s status is apparently unrelated to the four adult actors who have tested HIV-positive in the last month. The actor has not worked for the last three months.

Much of the $12 billion adult content business was put to a halt in the last month. The hiatus could extend beyond June 8, Adult Industry Medical Health Care Foundation officials said.

On Tuesday, a bill that would have regulated health policies of the porn industry was effectively shot down.

The piece of legislation, which would have mandated testing of all performers before production on an adult film can begin, was sent back for further study. A government official said it is unlikely the bill can be resurrected.

Industry officials countered that supervision of adult production, whether mandating the use of condoms or prohibiting sexual practices deemed to be high-risk, will drive production underground and alienate performers from the healthcare system.
