XBiz Launches Mobile News Service

LOS ANGELES – On the heels of the growing Short Message Service market, XBiz, The Industry Source, announced the launch of XBiz Mobile News, a free news service that delivers daily news headlines to mobile phones and personal digital assistants.

XBiz Mobile features breaking news headlines as seen on XBiz.com and highlights the most relevant breaking news that affects adult business professionals.

According to XBiz President Alec Helmy, XBiz Mobile is intended to compliment the company's recent launch of XBiz World, an industry trade magazine that features in-depth feature stories and breaking industry news.

"XBiz Mobile is yet another way in which XBiz has begun to deliver business news to the industry," Helmy said.

The instant messaging service uses the latest SMS technology and requires that users have an SMS-enabled mobile device.

According to XBiz Director of Technology Mike Mayo, the SMS headline service was built from the ground up and has taken months to develop.

"XBiz Mobile has the unique ability to reach you anytime, anywhere, in order to keep you informed and up-to-date on the latest industry developments," said Mayo.

According to mobile market analyst Mobile Media, the forecast for the SMS industry is expected to generate $70 billion by 2006.

While the U.S. SMS market is just beginning to take off, more than 20 billion worldwide messages are sent via SMS each month for numerous business-related applications, including meeting reminders and financial reports, email alerts and one-on-one communication.
