Jenna Jameson, Wicked in ‘Moantone’ Deal

NEW YORK — Jenna Jameson is pairing up with Wicked Wireless to provide Latin American cellphone users with “moantones” and other steamy content.

The new Modeltel Mobile Storefront program will provide TelCel Telefonica subscribers in Central and South America with access to “moantones,” softcore wallpaper, and other content from Jameson and "Jenna's Web Girls" whose websites are managed by her company, ClubJenna Inc.

The “moantones” will initially be available in Spanish when the service rolls out this month. Wicked Wireless also plans to introduce the service later this year in the United States.

New York City-based Wicked Wireless is using the Mobile Media Presentation System that enable cellphones to handle the graphics with low-power consumption and Binary Runtime Environment for Wireless, an open solution for wireless applications development created by Qualcomm.

"[It’s] like a visual radio experience on your cellphone," Wicked Wireless Dennis Adamo said. "[Users] can save ringtones and wallpapers to customize their phones and have a really terrific experience."

Since catching on late last year, ringtones have exploded in popularity, producing an estimated $375 million in U.S. revenue this year, according to IDC, an information technology firm. The year before, that figure was only $18 million.

Worldwide sales are just as big, particularly in Asia, where the ringtone market was worth $100 million in 2004.
