Hot House Pens European Distribution Deal

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – All-male production company Hot House Entertainment has penned a deal with Bruno Gmünder Verlag for the European distribution of video titles from Hot House Video, Plain Wrapped Video and Club Inferno.

The deal comes two months after Hot House formed another European alliance with Eurocreme Ltd. to distribute the "DreamBoy" series and other video titles throughout North America.

According to Hot House President and award-winning director Steven Scarborough, the hunt has been on for a distributor to cover Germany for nearly a year and Bruno Gmünder Verlag seemed like a good fit for his company.

Berlin, Germany-based Bruno Gmünder Verlag is considered one of the largest publishers of gay-related content in the world and is expected to compliment other Hot House distribution deals that cover France, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands.

"For us, Bruno Gmünder is the obvious choice to help us accomplish this goal,” Scarborough said, adding that Bruno Gmünder Verlag will primarily distribute Hot House's hardcore titles in those regions where demand is high, starting with new release "The Hard Way," available in stores by March 25.

Company Vice President Brent Smith told XBiz that the deal with Bruno signals the end of a four-year period during which Hot House came close to stopping its video production.

"Now we're revving back up to full-speed," Smith said. "We're back in the saddle producing films, and we really felt that Bruno has such a commanding presence in Germany that it would be terrific for us," Smith said.

Bruno Gmünder already has plans in place for Hot House books, calendars, magazines, print advertising, club events and in-store model signings. Smith told XBiz that in the coming months, Hot House will also be revamping its website to include video-on-demand.
