Rick's Cabaret Reports Record Revenue

NEW YORK — Gentlemen's club operator Rick's Cabaret International Inc. has reported June nightclub sales of $2.9 million, the second consecutive month of record revenues. The previous record for the company was $2.8 million in May 2007.

The June revenue, representing a 38 percent increase over sales in June 2006, were driven by revenue from the newest Texas clubs in Ft. Worth, Austin and San Antonio, which opened in the last six months, and continued development at the company's New York City club.

"Our New York club is rapidly becoming the No. 1 gentlemen's club in New York City," Rick's Cabaret representative Allan Priaulx told XBIZ. "We're the only club located in midtown, at 33rd and Broadway, across from the Empire State Building and down the street from Penn Station and Madison Square Garden. It's a perfect location. "We have started a concierge model, like the casinos do for their high rollers in Las Vegas," he said. "When you come in to Rick's in New York City, the manager knows what you're drinking, what sort of girls you like, etc."

Same-store sales were up more than 9 percent, to $2.3 million, compared with the June 2006 total of $2.1 million.

"The gentlemen's club industry is in a roll-up model, with independent clubs being sold to larger groups. We're leading the way there, having acquired six clubs in the last year," Priaulx said.

Publicly traded Rick's Cabaret International owns and operates or licenses adult nightclubs in New York City, New Orleans, Charlotte, Houston, Minneapolis and other cities under the names Rick's Cabaret, XTC and Club Onyx.
