‘Money Shot’ Gets Million-Plus Views on YouTube

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Creator/Producer Brett Drysdale announced that teaser clips for “The Money Shot Report” have had more than a 1,250,000 views since being posted on YouTube.com last fall.

The clips are from “The Money Shot” pilot, which features host Brad Benton and Drysdale as they cover events and happenings in the gay adult industry including the GAYVN Awards, the Grabby Awards, the gay Erotic Expo and various GLBT Pride celebrations, as well as interviews with many gay industry personalities. Drysdale has been looking for distribution with networks and various media outlets.

“This kind of project is kind of ahead of its time,” Drysdale told XBIZ. “Like in Hollywood, you create a pilot and it takes a little time to find the right home. I have a couple of interested people, but the show is an ongoing project and I have very high hopes for it. The response I had from viewers and the industry itself was very strong. It’s a win-win; it’s an entertaining show for people to watch and it gives a chance to showcase the industry in a really positive light.”

Acknowledging that shopping a pilot can be a long, time-consuming process, Drysdale is encouraged by the response from video-sharing sites like YouTube and Metacafe.com. He also is determined to make sure that the potential series finds the right fit, if it does get picked up for broadcast.

“We’ve spent a lot of our own time and money on this show so I want it to find a good home where it can prosper for years to come,” Drysdale said. “We really believe in this show, in what it will offer the consumers as entertainment and what it will offer the industry in exposure.”

Gay content providers Naked Sword and Maleflixx both previewed the pilot episode of “The Money Shot” last fall, and Drysdale has had some interested parties.

“One of the parties is looking to create a branded entertainment vehicle with ‘The Money Shot,’ drawing viewers and traffic to their site with the offering of this entertainment show,” he said. “The other is looking to add the show to its current roster of originally produced content they currently are offering their members/visitors,” he said.
