XBIZ Summer ’07 Forum Draws Estimated 1,000 Industry Attendees

LAS VEGAS — The XBIZ Summer ’07 Forum officially concluded with one final networking event — the XBIZ Farewell Executive Champagne Brunch held at Simon restaurant inside the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.

XBIZ President Alec Helmy announced that the Forum drew an estimated 1,000 industry attendees, a figure bigger than the previous year’s, and a clear sign of the event’s overwhelming success.

After enjoying two days of 100 degree-plus temperatures, the brunch provided attendees a relaxed (and air-conditioned) networking opportunity for one final meeting, meal and cocktail. Many were bleary-eyed, no doubt the result of partying until the wee morning hours at D-Money’s Rock the Ball concert featuring Metal Skool.

DHD Media, Epoch, HotMovies.com, Private and SexSearch sponsored the brunch.

Summer Forum attendees mixed and mingled at a leisurely pace exchanging greetings with friends old and new alike. According to many attendees, the Forum provided their business with the opportunity to grow and learn through the seminar tracts and networking with their peers at the various events and parties.

Anh Tran, co-founder of online adult DVD rental service WantedList.com, told XBIZ that he brokered three deals for his company during the Forum that made his trip a big success.

SexToy.com owner Dave Levine told XBIZ that attending the show paid dividends for his company. “I had a great time,” he said. “You couldn’t really ask for anything more in the show. XBIZ did a top-notch job with this one.”

XBIZ Sales Manager Kristen Kaye was very pleased with the way the event turned out.

“It was very flattering to have many people come up to me to say that this show was the best they’ve been to,” Kaye said. “Of course, an event of this magnitude would not be possible without our sponsors. Attendance was up and we have some really special things planned for next year.”

ASACP Executive Director Joan Irvine took the opportunity before the show concluded to deliver an impassioned speech thanking her organization’s sponsors. She implored all website operators to implement the RTA (Restricted to Adults) label and reinforced the ASACP mission of protecting children online.
