Larry Flynt Donates $2300 to Kucinich Campaign

LOS ANGELES — Hustler founder Larry Flynt has contributed $2,300 to democratic presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich .

Former mayor of Cleveland, Ohio, Kucinich currently represents the 10th District of Ohio in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Flynt made the donation to Kucinich’s presidential campaign shortly after attending a fundraising event for the Congressman.

It is not the first time the Flynt has donated to Kucinich. When the Congressman was running for president in 2004, Flynt also had donated $2,000 to his campaign.

Kucinich is a moderate liberal who campaigns on issues including universal health care, getting U.S. troops out Iraq, withdrawal from NAFTA, repealing the Patriot Act, education, environmental issues and Social Security reforms.

Known for his active interest in politics, Flynt also recently advertised a $1 million bounty for reliable information leading to “documented evidence of illicit sexual or intimate relations with a congressperson, senator or other prominent officeholder.”

The article on Flynt’s offer appeared in the June 3 issue of The Washington Post. Not long afterward, conservative Louisiana Republican Sen. David Vitter went public with information that his name had appeared on old phone records from Pamela Martin Associates, an alleged prostitution business operated by Washington, madam Deborah Jeane Palfrey.

At a press conference held on July 11, Flynt commented on the Vitter situation and hinted at other possible leads resulting from his offer.

“Republicans are more fun, because they get caught so easy and live a repressed life. The government, for a total of about 15 years, did everything they could to put me in prison [for publishing Hustler],” Flynt said. “You’ve got people who don’t have an ounce of the character that I have that are running our government. And I’m saying, this is payback time … and payback’s a bitch.”
