NAN said one of its reporters found adult images stored on several of the laptops, which were donated by the One Laptop Per Child project run by the OLPC Foundation out of Cambridge, Mass.
"Efforts to promote learning with laptops in a primary school in Abuja have gone awry as the pupils freely browse adult sites with explicit sexual materials," NAN told Reuters.
The OLPS Foundation's goal is to provide children in lesser-developed countries with laptops to use as a learning tool.
A NAN representative reportedly said its donated laptops now will be equipped with Internet filters.
