The double-feature “Miss Passion” and “Love Bites” will be released April 19. The New Wave-age pairing features Ginger Lynn in the first title and Amber Lynn in the second. Both are features which poke fun at the political issues of the mid-'80s, including “1984”-esque takes on the future and jabs at the Moral Majority.
Both films co-star Peter North, and “Love Bites” includes an appearance from “Deep Throat” star Harry Reems. In addition, each of the two discs features a performance by Traci Lords.
“Miss Passion” and “Love Bites” were made for the companies Vidco and Caballero, respectively, in 1984, according to the Internet Adult Film Database. By the time they were released, it had been discovered that Lords was underage. The actress had been either 15 or 16 at the time of filming, having presented false identification procured at the Torrance, Calif. Department of Motor Vehicles.
Lords’ pictorial in the September 1984 Penthouse sparked the legal battle that would result in Section 2257 legislation, which governs implied or expressed depictions of graphic sex acts involving minors. All Lords’ titles were removed from shelves under threat of prosecution.
Randall’s reissues are legal under a grandfather allowance that makes 2257 restrictions retroactive only until 1990.
Randall’s new work for PurePlay includes the all-sex “Ladies in Lust” and “Three’s Cumpany.”
