CorbinFisher.com to Remove DRM from its Sites, Videos

SAN DIEGO — CorbinFisher.com, which operates gay adult membership sites AmateurCollegeMen.com and AmateurCollegeSex.com, is removing Digital Rights Management copy-protection software from all of their sites and videos.

CorbinFisher.com added DRM to all of their online videos more than two years ago, to defeat piracy and unauthorized distribution, but a letter announcing the changes said, "... DRM didn't offer the kind of solution we'd hoped for and while it did counter piracy to a very limited degree, it was apparent it interfered with many users' experiences here at CF to an extent that was entirely unacceptable."

CorbinFisher.com has been removing DRM from their websites and video material since the spring of 2007. New videos have gone up without DRM.

"It's no easy task to make those changes to our entire collection of over 500 (and counting!) videos," the letter said, "but we decided it was more than worth the effort in order to provide all of our members with the most enjoyable, hassle-free experience when accessing our videos."

Brian Dunlap, vice president of operations for the CorbinFisher.com network of sites, said that DRM proved to be an incredible disappointment for the company and its subscribers.

"It was hoped, and even promised, that DRM would be this incredible solution and would have negative impact upon content pirates and content pirates alone," Dunlap said. "But it became apparent its impact upon piracy was minimal and its interference with the experience of our legitimate, paying members was extensive.

"We've always had an incredibly loyal customer base, and they deserve to not only be trusted, but also offered a hassle-free and satisfying experience in exchange for their money."

The almost 500 solo and hardcore all-male videos on AmateurCollegeMen.com are now DRM-free, and two new non-DRM videos are added each week. AmateurCollegeSex.com's weekly updates — featuring college-aged males in hardcore action with females — will be entirely DRM-free, as is its catalog of nearly 100 existing updates when the removal is complete.
