SexToy.com Acquires WholesaleAdultToys. net

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — Online adult toy store SexToy.com has acquired online adult wholesaler Wholesale-Adult-Toys.net in an effort to expand the retailer's existing wholesale company SexToyClub.com.

Company President Dave Levine said that he always had seen Wholesale-Adult-Toys.net as a major SexToyClub.com competitor, and once the two companies began to work together, he noticed they had similar business plans.

“Last year, after they began using us for some of their shipping, we discovered they had a great business that was very similar to ours in that we both have a similar product line and both offer wholesale and drop shipping services,” Levine said.

The former owner of Wholesale-Adult-Toys.net, who wished to remain anonymous, said that though his company has been in the adult toy business for almost 10 years, he was concerned about keeping up with the online retail technology necessary to keep up with competitors.

"As a result, we decided to sell out while we are still strong,” he said.

Levine said that Wholesale-Adult-Toys.net customers now have access to a wider selection of adult toys and novelties, including lingerie and DVDs, as well as more advanced shopping technology, such as free data feeds, a savable shopping cart and favorites list and the ability to track orders online.

Levine told XBIZ he purchased Wholesale-Adult-Toys.net for between $500,000 and $1 million.
