Exotic Erotic Ball, Snoop Dogg Raise Funds

SAN FRANCISCO — The Exotic Erotic Ball and rapper Snoop Dogg have joined to raise funds for San Francisco charity The Healing Circle, a support group for families who have lost children due to urban violence.

The Ball’s initial $45,000 deposit for Snoop Dogg’s services was committed to The Healing Circle.

Snoop Dogg will perform at a benefit concert at the Cow Palace on Oct. 26 during the Exotic Erotic Expo. He also will appear at the Ball Oct. 27, judging the costume contests with adult performer Tera Patrick and radio/TV personality Danny Bonaduce.

"We are excited about Snoop Dogg's live performance and his involvement with the show," Ball producer Howard Mauskopf said, "but we are blown away by his generosity. Snoop is doing a wonderful thing. We're just glad the Ball can assist."

Healing Circle co-founder Mattie Scott is grateful for the contribution.

“The primary mission of The Healing Circle Soul Support Group is to promote sharing, healing, education and action for survivors of homicide and victims of inner city violence,” Scott said. “We are about unity and we are about community. To remember our lost loved ones, we must first remember and care for those who are left to continue after their loss. We are grateful to Snoop Dogg and the Exotic Erotic Ball for their financial support, and commitment to bring awareness to our cause.”

Since its inception in 1979, the Ball has donated and raised more than $1 million for causes advocating personal freedom, equality and the fight against censorship. This year the Ball is sponsoring its 8th Annual Blood Drive, panel discussions on 1st Amendment rights and its annual arts installation with the theme “Make Love, Not War."

Tickets to the Snoop Dogg Benefit Performance on Oct. 26 are $35 and include access to the Exotic Erotic Expo. Tickets can be purchased through TicketMaster, and the ExoticEroticBall.com website.

Through its unique combination of mixing live mainstream musical, burlesque and circus performances with political irreverence, humorous hijinks and the outright bizarre, the Exotic Erotic Ball has delighted and regaled more than half a million attendees and participants over its history.

It takes place at the Cow Palace in San Francisco beginning Oct. 26, with the Exotic Erotic Expo, and concluding Oct. 27 with the Exotic Erotic Ball. The 2007 Ball is being produced in association with XFANZ.

To order tickets, call the festival hotline at (415) 567-BALL or visit ExoticEroticBall.com.
