Pulse Taps Amy Lew as New VP

CHATSWORTH, Calif. — Pulse Distribution has hired Amy Lew as its vice president in charge of licensing and acquisitions. Formerly with Cable Entertainment Distribution (CED) and Coastline Licensing, Lew has been in the adult industry for more than 6 years.

“Amy has developed an excellent reputation both with the studios she represents and with her customers," Pulse Distribution cofounder Mark Hamilton told XBIZ. "We have a really broad cross-section of studios now and Amy will be a great asset to Pulse in giving our studios quality service and in maximizing their revenues."

Lew’s primary responsibilities will include broadcast, Internet and mobile markets, both domestic and in foreign territories.

“Pulse is a very strong company and they’re going nowhere but up,” Lew told XBIZ. “I think there’s a lot of opportunity here for me. Right now, I’m kind of solidifying all the studio’s agreements for distribution.”

Lew pointed out the importance of online distribution platforms and international licensing for content producers.

“Digital delivery is the future,” she said. “Their presence internationally is important. Some studios haven’t done any licensing at all in Europe, Japan or Australia, and they want to get their product out there. Going forward, we hope to negotiate exclusive arrangements for producers to do their DVD and broadcast, so that they can just stay on the creative side and make movies. It will be a one-stop shop.

“I look forward to working here. And looking out for the studios and their best interest. Obviously, if they’re not making movies, then we’re not going to be able to distribute them. So, we want to help them grow their business and get what they’re valued at.”

Both Lew and Hamilton will be attending the Venus Berlin trade show, to be held later this month.
